0493_PH_UA_TPA_Liu_Wheat
This landing page details how to download the imaging data associated
with an experiment performed at The Plant Accelerator (TPA), Australian Plant Phenomimcs
Facility.
The data is available at https://data.pawsey.org.au/download/APPF/public_experiments/0493_PH_UA_TPA_Liu_Wheat.tar.
It is a tarball. The file is 1.05TB. Once downloaded, it can be
unarchived using the command:
tar -xf 0493_PH_UA_TPA_Liu_Wheat.tar
on Linux and Mac
systems or using a tool like 7zip on Windows.
Inside the archive is a series of directories with names like:
[measurement_label]_[id_tag]_[time_stamp]_[blob_id]
Where:
- measurement_label is an APPF identifier for the experiment
- id_tag is the unique identifier for the plant
- time_stamp is the imaging time as YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS
- blob_id is a unique identifier from the LemnaTec system.
Each directory contains one snapshot (where a snapshot is understood
as one plant through the imaging system one time), then each
snapshot directory contains a directory for each camera and that
directory contains a single PNG image.

The hyperspectral data are available via the data browser below.
There is a series of directories with names like: [swir/vnir]_[experiment_id]_[cycle_id]_[pot_id]_[time_stamp]
Where:
- swir or vnir denotes whether it was the FX17 (SWIR) or FX10 (VNIR)
experiment_id is an APPF identifier for the experiment
- cycle_id is an APPF identifier for the specific imaging run
- pot_id is the unique identifier for the plant.
- time_stamp is the imaging time in YYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS format.
Within each directory is:
- calibrations directory: this contains information about the bpr and radiometric calibrations for the scan.
- capture directory: this contains a log file, ENVI header file and the raw data each for the white reference, dark reference and the scan itself.
- manifest.xml file:
- metadata directory: this contains an XML file and associated XSL stylesheet with information about the scan, including frame rate, sensor temperatures etc.
- properties.xml file; describing the file naming structure
- [swir/vnir]_[experiment_id]_[cycle_id]_[pot_id]_[time_stamp].png file: a false colour PNG image which is a sample view of 3 chosen bands from the raw data.
